47% of Americans in Favor of Stalinian Speech Controls

Astounding results on Americans in favor of the so-called "Fairness Doctrine" -- which if it were imposed, would virtually hit the off switch for conservative talk radio!!! Talk radio stations would go back to music formats rather than have to put on equal hours of mind-numbing, vicious, listener-alienating, brain-farting, spiteful and humorless Liberals.

A sizable group favor imposing the same standards on WEBSITES !!! Bye-bye blogosphere!?

Eeef vyoo dunt like vwhat zee Commies haf to zay, zey vwill make kyoo hear it anyvay! Und like it!!!

Of course we know EXACTLY who is responding to these polls this way: Leftists who know that if the Government is in charge of establishing "fairness" that the echelons of government scum-bag dependents and sycophants will ensure one thing only: the Leftist view of history and the universe will prevail in the last arena of communication and cultural formation where the ideas of the silent majority and of conservatives of all stripes has been able to carve out a sliver of free speech!

"Fifty-eight percent (58%) of likely Obama voters believe the government should make all radio and TV stations offer equal amounts of conservative and liberal commentary, as opposed to 40% of potential McCain voters who feel that way."

Of course there is also a good chunk of RETARDS answering these questions without the slightest understanding of the stakes. Who the hell sits for these polls except idiots?

From Rasmussen Reports:

47% Favor Government Mandated Political Balance on Radio, TV

Nearly half of Americans (47%) believe the government should require all radio and television stations to offer equal amounts of conservative and liberal political commentary, but they draw the line at imposing that same requirement on the Internet. Thirty-nine percent (39%) say leave radio and TV alone, too.

At the same time, 71% say it is already possible for just about any political view to be heard in today’s media, according to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey. Twenty percent (20%) do not agree.

Fifty-seven percent (57%) say the government should not require websites and blog sites that offer political commentary to present opposing viewpoints. But 31% believe the Internet sites should be forced to balance their commentary.
