So let's see who the Dems are going to re-cycle and re-package as an Alpha Male this election cycle, quick: Get Naomi Wolf on the phone! You got your Angry Algore. Your bitter Biden. Your malevolent Murtha. Your livid Levin. Your bilious Vilsack. Your creepy Kerry... nah, that one doesn't work...

Then there's the Alpha Male, Macho Dem FE-males vying for leader of the pack: Your hopping mad Hillary. Your panzer Pelosi. And, duh, your boxing Boxer! Oh goodness, talk about a natural!

And we've only got manic McCain...

NYT and IHT Sez: "The Invasion of the Alpha Male Democrat"

New York Times' Ryan Lizza waxes eloquently about the visual coup d'etat pulled off by the Dems in the past election by Schumer and Emmanuel who scoured the country high and low to find some ex-FBI, ex-CIA, ex-military Liberals with manly faces and manly voices and manly haircuts and manly boots who could "change the face" of the Democrat party in PUBLIC PERCEPTION.

You may recall how a couple of years ago the DEM "think tanks" (using the phrase loosely) was all about changing PERCEPTIONS of the party as pro-gay rights, pro-abortion, anti-family, anti-property, anti-Christianity... well, you get the picture. The strategery then was cooked up to start saying things like "WE ARE the party of FAMILY VALUES!!! We are so family values!!! Family values -r- us!"

I.e. "Abortion is a family value, gay 'marriage' is a family value, socialism is a family value..." etc. That lasted a couple of months last year.

It went over like a lead balloon. Not even their media pimps and prostitutes could make that "linguistic" strategery fly.

So then Chuckie and Rahmie put their little heads together and [DING!] the little Machiavellian light went on:

"Hey, we're as ugly and scuzzy looking as dog manure on the bottom of a shoe! People don't hear the nice words we've made up when they can't get by Barnie Frank's face and lisp!!! We've been giving the American sheeple way too much credit. What we need are some macho looking guys, like from that YMCA singing group, to parade around in boots and stuff. That'll fool enough dummies in the Red States who don't read the newspaper or have the slightest idea in their noggins that we've been twisting the facts for ever on the economy, on Iraq, on racism, on the weather, on well, duh, like everything! Man if we are going to trick people with words like 'real family values' and 'real patriotism' and 'real democracy' to mask things like gay rights over children, turning over secret information to our enemies, and having dead guys and illegal aliens win elections for Democrats across the country... we'd better get our asses in gear and find us some MACHO DEMS!!!"

According to the NYT: "The members of this new faction, which helped the Democrats expand into majority status, stand out not for their ideology or racial background but for their carefully cultivated masculinity."

I.e., the new ALPHA MALE DEMS (picking up where Al Gore left off?) got picked for their WHITE MASCULINE LOOK! (Do you remember the Algore Alpha Male Moment? When he snuck up on GWB at a debate and GWB looked over his shoulder at him like Gore was some strange sort of insect? Hilarious. Let's see more of that, like Jim Webb parading around in boots and trying to "pick a fight" with the President--all the Orange Beanie and Tin Foil Hat crowd wet themselves over that--like a perfect ass.)

Here's their take on POLITICAL VIRTUE: One of the Dem genius strategerists, John Lapp, warbles, “Joe Sestak — that guy’s muscular! ...He’s a vice admiral. I’ve told him to spend a lot of time going on the national talk shows. He can really do a service changing the mold and the way the Democratic Party is viewed.”

I wonder if politics at the end of the Roman Republic was similarly dominated by such liars and crooks?
