Dumb Ox Bloggregator (update)
Hear Ye, Hear Ye!A BLOGROLL LIKE NO OTHER... (Note updated program and requirements)
News Hungry Conservatives, Libertarians, Republicans, Religious Folks, and Fair-Minded, Intellectually Curious, Seekers of All Sorts (even Libs, Kommies, and Demokrats) are hereby and forthwith invited to apply for membership on the Dumb Ox Bloggregator!
"Dumb Ox Daily News" should be every right-thinking person's homepage. It's better organized and more complete than Drudge, it's more entertaining and educational than News Max or World Net alone (we have their headlines), and it has our own inimitable Non-Utopian Dumb Ox commentary. Historical insight, legal insight, spiritual insight, human condition insight... well, you get the idea.
But now, with the Dumb Ox Bloggregator, we are looking to set the standard for a convenient portal to some of the best news commentary, analysis and wit in our corner of the Blogosphere!
... better than a Blogroll, better than TRACKBACKS...
Da-ta-ta-da: THE DUMB OX BLOGGREGATOR !!!
If you are approved for Membership in the Dumb Ox Bloggregator--and you add the Bloggregator Code below to your sidebar--your recent posts will appear IN OUR NEW BLOGREGATOR on EVERY BLOGROLL MEMBER'S BLOG in a rotation showing the last 15 updated posts from Member blogs! The list length is subject to change as our great group grows, but in any case, you can put the post listing in a scrolling window if you like--several members have already done variations on that.
You can request to be considered for the Bloggregator by email to ligand54619@mypacks.net or in the comment section to this post.
Requirements for acceptance...
a) Conservative bloggers only need apply -- big-tent conservatives, i.e. Libertarians to Traditionalists are welcome.
b) We are looking to form a "news service" with the Bloggregator, for Members and readers of Members' blogs, that deals with topical news and expert analysis, perspective, commentary, or wit. The expertise may be academic, professional, or life experience. The topics are to be of national interest, in categories such as politics, defense and military, immigration, family values, religion, foreign affairs, economics, culture wars, and related topics. Occasional personal life stories, and local (state and local) stories are more than o.k., but the thrust of the blog ought to be of national scope and interest. Original conservative wit and satire on the foregoing topics is also welcome.
c) Frequency must not be more than one post per day. An occasional second post on an urgent topic is permitted. Updating a daily post is fine.
Not posting every day is not a problem at all. Quality and substance is our aim.
Blogs may not cross-post with other Bloggregator members.
Blogs that have multiple posts per day really do not fit the purpose or format of the Bloggregator.
Blogs that have "Open Trackback" posts without any content that fits Bloggregator standards also do not fit the purpose or format of the Bloggregator.
HERE IS A RECOMMENDATION FOR SOME BLOGGERS WHO WOULD LIKE TO BE LISTED BUT WHO OTHERWISE HAVE POSTING HABITS IN CONFLICT WITH THE BLOGGREGATOR'S PURPOSE AND FORMAT:
Some bloggers might be interested in creating a SECONDARY blog, where they could post their ONE daily or bi-weekly post of substance, and use that blog on the Bloggregator, and directing readers from there to their "home" blog with all of their usual posts. It's just a thought. If someone would like to do that, placing the Bloggregator on the "home" blog and the "secondary" blog would be the way to qualify.
d) Placement of the Bloggregator must be within view of the topmost post, or within one screen scrolldown.
Look dear friends, people blog for different reasons. And that's wonderful. One size doesn't fit all! Please don't let your feelings be hurt if you are not approved or if your blog ends up not meeting the evolving requirements of the Bloggregator as a "blog portal" with a particular purpose and format, useful to our blog community and to readers.
Therefore, note that many very fine blogs may not qualify for the Bloggregator, due to either the "topic" or the posting habits requirements. If you would like to put the Bloggregator on your site anyway (a useful tool for you and your readers), or a "Dumb Ox Daily News" banner you can let me know and I will add you to the Dumb Ox, Oxen and Oxette Blogroll!
So here's the Banner with Blog Aggregator, the Bloggregator, code to put in your sidebar:

NB: Replacing ALL "[" with "<" Let me know when you install the banner and roll via a Comment or via the above email, and we will check out your site for inclusion, and ask that you send me your RSS (feedburner, atom, etc. is ok). All decisions reflect the evaluation of the "Dumb Ox Bloggregator" development committee.
Here's the "Dumb Ox Daily News" banner on its own... for bloggers to be added as "Oxen and Oxettes"

The Dumb Ox Community
We are open to helping out with any questions you might have on blogging or whatever you think we might be of help with, including any blogosphere initiatives you are promoting! By applying and being accepted on the Bloggregator, or as an Ox or Oxette, you also indicate your availability for being contacted by yours truly or other Dumb Oxen and Oxettes for blogosphere initiatives for the common good.
Thanks for your interest!
Yours faithfully, D. Ox
p.s. Our good friend Stik-n-stein, of "stikNstein ...Has No Mercy" fame, has created these alternative banners that you can use with the blogroll code above, or the GI Joe "cuppa truth" banner up above. Note the lengthwise banner fits some sidebars better. Formatting of the Bloggregator is quite flexible, but will take the default settings of your sidebar as they stand. If using one of the alternative pics, please download it to your own server and link them to the "Dumb Ox Daily News" homepage...

Pretty neat, huh? Thanks, Stik!
p.p.s. If anyone wants the original Dumb Ox Bull's Head for their Bloggregator or Banner, let me know at the same email and I'll send you the code.
Stumble It!
